Florida Gators Secure Transfer of USC Offensive Lineman Jason Zandamela
The Florida Gators scored a significant transfer addition as former in-state lineman Jason Zandamela announced his decision to join the team on Thursday.
Zandamela, previously with USC’s offensive line, revealed his commitment to Florida shortly after visiting Gainesville on an official visit.
Originally part of the 2024 class, Zandamela initially enrolled at USC but opted to transfer closer to his hometown of Clearwater, citing the desire to be near his support network.
While the Gators pursued Zandamela in high school, they lost him to USC. However, their continued connection and familiarity played a pivotal role in securing his transfer this time around.
Zandamela’s background as a former rugby player, transitioning to football later in high school, underscores his athleticism and ongoing development in the sport.
Despite interest from UCF, with whom Zandamela took an official visit, the Gators successfully recruited him to their program.
