Florida secured a significant addition to their roster as former USC offensive lineman Jason Zandamela, hailing from Clearwater, FL and Clearwater Academy International, announced his decision to transfer to the Gators.
This acquisition follows his official visit to Gainesville, solidifying his commitment to the team. Zandamela, originally part of the 2024 class at USC, opted to transfer closer to home for personal reasons, prompting his move to Florida.
Despite initially choosing USC over Florida, the Gators’ persistence and existing rapport with Zandamela played a pivotal role in his decision this time around. A former rugby player, Zandamela brings athleticism and a growing understanding of football, having only started playing in high school. While UCF was also in contention, Zandamela ultimately chose Florida over the Knights, marking a significant win for the Gators’ recruiting efforts.
