The Florida Gators are ramping up efforts to bolster their offensive line with the addition of a former USC player. Amidst ongoing recruitment for the 2024 season, the Gators recently announced the commitment of offensive lineman Enoch Wangoy, who originally intended to join the Class of 2025 but opted for early graduation to join the team sooner.
In addition to Wangoy, Florida is actively pursuing the nation’s top offensive interior lineman from the transfer portal. According to reports by Hayes Fawcett of On3, former USC Trojan Jason Zandamela is slated to visit UCF before heading to Florida for his next visit.
Zandamela, listed by On3 as the No. 30 overall and No. 2 interior lineman in the transfer portal, holds significant interest from Florida, with plans for his visit to take place over the upcoming weekend or early the following week. Notably, 247Sports ranks Zandamela even higher, placing him as the No. 7 overall prospect in the portal and the top interior offensive lineman.
Standing at 6’2.5 and 285 pounds, Zandamela hails from Clearwater Academy and previously held a scholarship offer from Florida. He was previously recruited by offensive line coach Rob Sale before opting to attend USC. Regarded as the top interior lineman in the country during his high school career, Zandamela’s potential return to Florida seems fitting given his origins in the Sunshine State.
