A prominent European club has placed a hefty £129 million price tag on Manchester City’s target, Rafael Leao from AC Milan. The report suggests that Manchester City, led by Pep Guardiola, are eyeing the Portuguese winger for a potential summer transfer.
However, acquiring Leao won’t be a bargain. Despite recently extending his contract with AC Milan, the 24-year-old is considered one of the most valuable players in football, with a market valuation of approximately £80 million. AC Milan is standing firm on their valuation, refusing to engage in negotiations for anything less than £129 million.
This substantial asking price isn’t surprising given the trend of European clubs aiming to maximize profits from transfers involving Premier League clubs, especially Manchester City. Although Manchester City has a history of shrewd transfer dealings, the pursuit of Leao is expected to remain a hot topic throughout the summer transfer window.
Since joining AC Milan from Lille in 2019, Leao has showcased his talent, scoring 56 goals and providing 49 assists in 205 appearances across all competitions. With four years remaining on his contract, Leao is poised to attract significant attention in the transfer market.
