Florida Gators Football Secures New 2024 Addition
The Florida Gators football team is set to welcome another player to their roster this upcoming season. The program continues to strengthen its 2024 signing class, this time through a reclassification.
Enoch Wangoy, originally a Class of 2025 offensive line commit who committed on March 9, has reclassified to the 2024 class and is slated to join the team in May. The announcement of Wangoy’s inclusion was made via a social media post by UF on Monday.
In his statement shared through the social media post, Wangoy emphasized his commitment to giving his all in every aspect of the game, embracing challenges as opportunities for personal growth.
Wangoy’s addition not only enhances the depth of the offensive line group but also brings significant size to the team. Standing at a self-reported 6-foot-8 with a wingspan of seven feet and weighing 314 pounds, Wangoy is an imposing figure on the field.
Rated as a three-star offensive tackle prospect by 247Sports, Wangoy’s journey in football has been unique. Originally from Manchester, England, he moved to the United States at the age of 16 and initially pursued soccer, basketball, and rugby. His 2023 season with Jacksonville (Fla.) Zarephath Academy marked his introduction to American football, where he excelled as a team captain playing on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Wangoy’s enrollment also adds to the diversity of the Florida football program, as he becomes the second European offensive line recruit alongside freshman Noel Portnjagin from Germany.
The 2024 offensive line class for Florida is rounded out by early enrollees Fletcher Westphal and Mike Williams, summer enrollee Marcus Mascoll, and transfer additions Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson and Devon Manuel.
