A Browns practice squad offensive lineman, Justin Murray, who joined the team in November, has been placed on the retired list. As the NFL draft approaches, there’s anticipation for significant moves across the league, with talks of big trades and smaller deals expected during and after the draft.
The Cleveland Browns, with six draft picks (after trading OT Leroy Watson), have flexibility in how they use them. While there are trade rumors involving CB Greg Newsome II, he remains unfazed, though his availability for trade isn’t ruled out.
News emerged today that the Browns have placed three players on the reserve/retired list, including Justin Murray, alongside LB Christian Kirksey and WR Rashard Higgins, who were signed to one-day deals.
Murray, who saw action in four games for the Tennessee Titans in 2023, joined the Browns’ practice squad last November. Throughout his career spanning 41 games across four teams, he logged 1,589 offensive snaps, primarily with the Arizona Cardinals, and 178 special teams snaps.
With Murray’s retirement and Watson’s trade, GM Andrew Berry will prioritize bolstering offensive line depth for training camp. Speculation suggests the Browns may target an offensive tackle early in the upcoming draft to address this need.
