After the Buffalo Bills traded away star wide receiver Stefon Diggs recently, many might assume that their chance to compete for a Super Bowl title has faded. Diggs, who earned Pro Bowl honors for the past four seasons, leaving the team has created a void in their receiving corps. However, offensive tackle Dion Dawkins expressed optimism about the team’s championship prospects, stating on “The Jim Rome Show” that he believes their window for success “remains open indefinitely.”

Yet, the departure of Gabe Davis, the team’s second-best wide receiver last season, to the Jacksonville Jaguars, further complicates matters. While the Bills acquired Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins, neither instill fear in opposing defensive coordinators or defensive backs. Consequently, Buffalo will heavily rely on quarterback Josh Allen, who is among the NFL’s premier quarterbacks and arguably the most proficient dual-threat player in the league.

In the 2023 season, Allen showcased his skills by throwing for 4,306 yards and 29 touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 524 yards and 15 touchdowns. However, his 18 interceptions, the second-highest in the league after Sam Howell, are a concern.

Moreover, the Bills will heavily lean on their defense, which faltered last season partly due to injuries. Several key defensive players were sidelined in 2023, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health this upcoming season. While many pundits view the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets as superior to the Bills, Buffalo is determined to defy those expectations and prove their critics wrong.
