There’s been some online speculation circulating about a certain Sunderland player seeking a move away from the club this summer. With Premier League clubs expressing interest in several Sunderland players, including Anthony Patterson, Jack Clarke, Dan Neil, and Trai Hume, it’s understandable that fans might be concerned about potential departures.
Among the players attracting attention, Jobe Bellingham’s name has resurfaced, with Lazio reportedly reigniting their interest ahead of the transfer window. However, there are also players like Nazariy Rusyn, who, while not necessarily in high demand, could still potentially leave the Stadium of Light this summer.
Rusyn, who joined Sunderland from Ukrainian side Zorya for a reported £2.5 million last summer, has had a challenging debut season in the Championship. Despite featuring 21 times, he’s only managed to score twice and has reportedly faced difficulties adapting to life in England, including language barriers, though his family has since joined him in the country.
Recent rumors on social media suggest that Rusyn may be looking to leave Sunderland in the summer. However, given the challenges of settling into a new league and environment, combined with his potential and contractual obligations until 2027, it’s unlikely that these rumors hold much weight.
Sunderland’s leadership, particularly Kristjaan Speakman, who would have conducted thorough research before Rusyn’s signing, is likely to have confidence in his ability to develop into a key player for the club. Additionally, a premature departure for Rusyn could reflect poorly on Speakman and undermine his credibility.
While the speculation about Rusyn’s future may seem plausible, it appears improbable at this stage.
