In the latest mock draft by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., the Buffalo Bills are projected to pick LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. at the 28th overall spot, presenting a promising option for the team.

Kiper highlights Thomas’s exceptional performance as a deep threat alongside LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, leading the nation in touchdown receptions with 17, including 10 on go routes or fades. Notably, Thomas showcased impressive speed with a 4.33-second 40-yard dash time during the combine, suggesting he could potentially fill the void left by the departure of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. With the Bills currently lacking depth at the receiver position, acquiring a talent like Thomas becomes crucial, especially with NFL.com’s draft expert Daniel Jeremiah ranking him as the fifth-best wide receiver in his class.

Jaguars' potential 2024 draft targets: LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr.

While projections suggest Thomas may be taken earlier in the draft, possibly by the Jacksonville Jaguars at 17th overall, the Bills could explore trading up to secure him. This move aligns with the team’s objective of maximizing their Super Bowl contention window, which could be at risk following the Diggs trade. By adding a dynamic young receiver like Thomas, the Bills aim to bolster their offensive arsenal and maintain their competitiveness with quarterback Josh Allen leading the charge.
