AC Milan has set their sights on Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana, and according to a report, there are two key factors that could facilitate the club’s acquisition of him.
Reported by Calciomercato.com, Fofana appears to have a clear vision regarding his future as the current campaign draws to a close, which could work in Milan’s favor. Firstly, the boost comes from the fact that the 26-year-old’s contract with Monaco is set to expire in June 2025. Fofana has hinted at his desire to depart from Monaco once they secure qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.
Moreover, Fofana’s remarks suggest that he is intrigued by the prospect of joining Milan. Given that his contract will have only a year remaining in the summer, it is highly probable that Fofana will depart from Monaco for a reduced price.
“I believe Milan is a truly prestigious club. Milan’s reputation and achievements are well-known. However, despite the speculation in Italy, I am focused on my mission: helping Monaco secure Champions League qualification, which is akin to a marathon,” Fofana stated.
“With seven crucial matches left in the season, every game feels like a final. Playing for Monaco, one understands that the Champions League is the club’s primary objective.”
“While Milan remains one of the world’s top clubs with an illustrious trophy cabinet, my current priority is to achieve Champions League qualification with Monaco.”
