Expressing his enthusiasm, LuaLua remarked, “I have had the pleasure of working with Nathan before, both during my time at Brighton and at Luton, and I have always valued his mentorship. Reuniting with him is a great opportunity for me, as I have consistently gleaned knowledge from our past collaborations. I am eager to commence training with the team and don the Charlton Athletic jersey.”

Having honed his skills at the Newcastle United academy and with stints at clubs like Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers, LuaLua brings a wealth of experience to Charlton. He will wear the number 49 shirt for the club, having recently concluded his tenure with Greek club Levadiakos.

Jones praised LuaLua’s qualities, describing him as a “fantastic player” and emphasizing the need for his versatility in the team. With his arrival, Charlton aims to bolster its options, particularly in wide areas where Tyreece Campbell stands out as the primary natural winger. LuaLua’s signing follows the recent addition of Connor Wickham, another experienced forward, on a short-term contract, highlighting Charlton’s strategic approach to bolstering their squad.
