A former running back for the Buffalo Bills, Nyheim Hines, has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns, according to a source familiar with the negotiations as reported by the Associated Press on Tuesday. The deal is said to be valued at up to $3.5 million.
The source, who requested anonymity because the agreement has not been officially announced by the team, stated that the deal will not be finalized until Wednesday, coinciding with the beginning of the new league year.
Hines, known for his abilities as both a running back and kick returner, was recently released by the Bills. He missed the entirety of the previous season due to a torn ACL sustained in a boating accident involving a collision with a jet skier in North Carolina. Hines joined the Bills midway through the 2022 season via a trade from the Indianapolis Colts. While he didn’t make a significant impact on offense, he notably returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in the regular-season finale against New England.
Originally selected by the Colts in the fourth round of the 2018 draft, Hines brings his experience as a seasoned professional to the Browns.
