A former standout of the New York Yankees, Robinson Cano, renowned for his stellar performance at second base over nearly a decade, has opted to continue his baseball career in the Mexican League.
Cano’s tenure with the Yankees saw him excel, earning numerous accolades including All-Star selections, a World Series victory, and recognition as one of the franchise’s finest second basemen. Following his departure from the Yankees in 2013, he secured a substantial contract with the Seattle Mariners, maintaining his elite status in the league. However, Cano’s career was marred by controversies surrounding performance-enhancing drugs, resulting in suspensions and ultimately leading to his departure from the MLB after the 2022 season.
Now, at 41 years old, the eight-time All-Star has decided to extend his playing career with the Diablos Rojos in the Mexican League, signaling his enduring passion for the game.
