Former Denver Nuggets coach George Karl and Carmelo Anthony have engaged in a recent public spat despite nearly 15 years passing since Anthony’s departure for the New York Knicks. The tension between them became evident when Anthony discussed his time with Karl on a podcast, prompting Karl to respond on social media. Karl criticized Anthony’s remarks, calling him “overrated” and comparing him unfavorably to Detlef Schrempf. Anthony responded with laughter emojis, leading Karl to accuse him of being passive-aggressive.

Karl continued to express his opinion over the following days, labeling Anthony as inexperienced and overrated during their time together. He also suggested that the Nuggets should honor Anthony, citing a Twitter poll as evidence of public support. While Karl’s remarks may have some validity regarding Anthony’s peak years in Denver, Anthony’s subsequent career with other teams failed to achieve significant success.
