The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly hired Brian Picucci from the University of Kentucky as their assistant offensive line coach, following his former colleague Liam Coen to the NFC South. Picucci, who served as a quality control coach for the Wildcats, will now join Coen in Tampa Bay, as confirmed by Adam Schefter.
Although Picucci’s departure marks another loss for Kentucky, his tenure in Lexington was brief, spanning only one season. Notably, Picucci previously coached alongside Coen at UMass from 2005 to 2008, indicating a longstanding professional relationship between the two.
Picucci’s most recent NFL experience was with the Detroit Lions, where he served as an offensive assistant and assistant tight ends coach under then-head coach Matt Patricia from 2018 to 2019.
With Picucci’s departure, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops will need to fill the vacant quality control position on his coaching staff.
