The Falcons have announced the addition of four new assistant coaches to their staff. Kevin Koger will serve as the tight ends coach, Nick Jones takes on the role of assistant offensive line coach, Barrett Ruud is named the inside linebackers coach, and Chandler Whitmer is appointed as the passing game specialist. Additionally, the team has decided to retain Steven King as the special teams assistant.

Koger, who served as the Chargers’ tight ends coach for the past three seasons, previously worked as an offensive quality control coach with the Green Bay staff in 2019 and 2020.

Whitmer, who held the position of offensive quality control coach for the Chargers in the last three seasons, was primarily responsible for assisting quarterbacks and handling day-to-day operations for the offensive coaching staff.

Ruud, who did not coach in 2023, previously worked as the inside linebackers coach at his alma mater, Nebraska, from 2018 to 2022.

Jones, an offensive assistant with the Rams for the past three seasons, initially joined the Falcons in 2020 through the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, focusing on working with their offensive line.
