Game Preview and Injury Update: Chicago Bulls to Face Portland Trail Blazers on the Road
The Chicago Bulls (21-25) are eager to break their two-game losing streak as they face the Portland Trail Blazers (13-32) at the Moda Center on Monday. Struggling to maintain momentum on their challenging western road trip, the Bulls aim to secure a victory after falling short of reaching the .500 mark, starting the season with a 5-14 record.
During their stay in Portland, the Bulls had the opportunity to engage with Chicago Bulls legend Phil Jackson on Friday. The session proved to be both memorable and enlightening for the team, which is in need of a boost before the All-Star break.
Coby White shared his thoughts on the experience, stating, “It should inspire you. If you love the game of basketball, it should inspire you. He’s a legend, a Hall of Fame coach, if not the best coach of all time. So, for us, it should motivate us as a unit and a team to grow. And he gave us some insight on our team. I also asked if he watched our games, and he said yes.”
In addition to interacting with players, Phil Jackson also spent valuable time with Bulls coach Billy Donovan and his coaching staff. The discussions covered various aspects of the game, from strategic elements to team dynamics and chemistry.
Donovan expressed his appreciation for the conversation, saying, “I always enjoy talking to people like that. There’s certain things in the game that just don’t change. There’s certain things you have to do, whether it was 50 years ago or today. I think even besides getting into the X’s-and-O’s stuff, talking about the dynamics of the team and the chemistry, all that stuff was great.”
Unfortunately, the Bulls will be without forward Patrick Williams in the upcoming game against Portland due to left midfoot soreness. Williams joins Zach LaVine and Torrey Craig on the sidelines. On the Blazers’ side, there are uncertainties, as Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, Jabari Walker, Jerami Grant, and Malcolm Brogdon are all listed as questionable for the game.
