The New Orleans Saints have conducted an interview with Quarterback Coach Ronald Curry for the open offensive coordinator position, according to information from Luke Johnson. Curry has been an integral part of the Saints coaching staff for eight seasons, having joined as an offensive assistant in 2016. His role has evolved over the years, progressing from wide receivers coach to his current position as quarterbacks coach.
The search for a new offensive coordinator follows the recent departure of long-time Saints coach Pete Carmichael. The team has already interviewed seven candidates in their quest for a suitable replacement. Shane Waldron, former offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks and a prior interviewee, recently accepted a position with the Chicago Bears. The remaining six candidates are still under consideration. Curry, with his extensive eight-year tenure within the Saints organization, possesses in-depth knowledge of the team’s offensive strategies and commands high respect within the organization. Should the Saints opt for an internal promotion, Curry stands as a strong candidate for a smooth transition to the role of offensive coordinator.
