Newcastle could turn to Premier League rivals best player to replace Miguel Almiron

Newcastle is facing the possibility of losing Miguel Almiron to a Saudi Pro-League team, but they are considering turning to one of their Premier League rivals’ standout players as his replacement. Eddie Howe, under increasing pressure as Newcastle sits in 10th place in the middle of the Premier League table, is looking to revive the team’s season.

Newcastle has grappled with numerous injuries and struggled to manage the demanding fixture schedule, particularly with Champions League commitments. Despite hoping for new signings in January, the club’s spending is significantly restricted due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Reports from The Telegraph via TeamTalk indicate that there’s a risk of Almiron departing before the transfer window closes, with Al-Shabab, a Saudi Pro League club, expressing interest in the winger. However, the same report suggests that if the 29-year-old leaves, Newcastle is eyeing Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs White as a potential replacement.

Gibbs White, a 24-year-old who earned Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Season honors last year, is regarded as a valuable asset at the City Ground. Securing a deal for him in January is considered “difficult” and is expected to come at a substantial cost.
